I've been using curlers for 10 years. You wan't to actually blown dry your hair straight. Then use velcrow curlers. (I'm not sure if I spelled that right *L*) Spray your hair w/ hairspray after the curlers are in and let your hair set for 30 mins.

Once you take the curlers out, use your fingers, at the roots and basically shake your hair w/ your fingers, seperating the curls. MAKE SURE NOT TO TOUCH YOUR ENDS...JUST THE ROOT!

If your hairs like mine after you take the curlers out use a anti-freeze serum.. not too much to make it greasy, just enough for the freezies!

You may need to use them a couple times to practice and acutally tame your hair.

The velcrow curlers work best. You may need to just buy the medium to big size velcrow curlers. You will have to decide on a size you like. I bought my curlers at Walmart for $25.00 bucks they are called Profiles.

Good luck!

Ok I do them in my hair is so easy..you can either buy curlers [really cheap, any brand will do as long as they go really hot] and then each hair you wanna curl you don't put the whole thing round the curler you just get around half or a quarter near the end and hold it on for around 3 minutes per hair [just getting a mall section will make the curls exactly how you want them and will just spread up the hair!, it turns out so nice!] or if you have straightners you wrap the hair around the straitners and hold for a long time..I'm afraid for curls liek that thats all you can do, cuz with curlers you usually get sorta ringlets..

PS don't straighten first as it makes it harder to curl and you are just burning your hair even more, with a curling iron it doesn't matter what state your hair is in cuz it changes its shape, then just straighten bits that are left out.

TRUST ME CURLERS WORK LIKE A CHARM!

I also have thick curly hair, believe it or not, you have to straighten your hair first. When your hair is damp, apply a straightening lotion or conditioning mousse, comb your hair straight and blow dry small sections at a time with a flat brush. When the whole head is dry and straight, use a big barrel (2") curling iron. Select a 1" section of hair and wrap it spiral like around the iron with the iron held pointing to the ceiling, start at the bottom of the barrel and wind the hair up and around, not overlapping the hair if you can, don't curl right to the scalp, that looks silly, just to above the ear. Give it a shot of hairspray while in the iron, count to ten, let go and carefully draw the iron out of the ringlet. Repeat all around, don't break up the spirals, once finished spray all around.
